Fortnite’s upcoming season ventures into the past with a nostalgic flair. Chapter 5: Season 2, titled “Myths & Mortals,” delves into Greek mythology, allowing players to embody gods, battle on Mount Olympus, and wield Zeus’ thunderbolt. An in-game event featuring Pandora’s box set the stage for this adventure.
New mythological locations like Mount Olympus and the underworld, guarded by Cerberus, have been added to the map. Alongside these, players can find power-ups such as the Wings of Icarus for flight, Zeus’ bolts for lightning attacks, and an upcoming weapon called the Chains of Hades.
With the arrival of a new season comes a fresh battle pass, offering players the chance to unlock Greek gods like Aphrodite, Medusa, and a playful Slurp Juice version of Poseidon. Later on, players can also unlock Korra from “The Legend of Korra.”
“Myths & Mortals” represents a notable shift for Fortnite, expanding beyond the battle royale mode to include diverse gaming experiences such as Lego Fortnite, Rocket Racing, and the Fortnite Festival. Additionally, Epic Games has been active, with Disney’s $1.5 billion investment aimed at building a broader gaming and entertainment universe. Meanwhile, Epic continues to grapple with Apple over App Store changes.
