Los Angeles Rams star Aaron Donald made a surprising announcement on Friday morning, declaring his retirement from professional football. After an illustrious ten-year career as a defensive tackle, all with the Rams, Donald reached the pinnacle of success by helping secure a Super Bowl victory in 2022.
Sharing his gratitude on social media platform X, Donald expressed, “Cheers to what’s next. Extending a big thank you to the Rams and all of the fans for your support over these last 10 years. Much love.”
Widely regarded as one of football’s elite players, Donald was honored with the league’s Defensive Player of the Year award three times, including his most recent win in 2020. Additionally, he earned a Pro Bowl selection every year throughout his illustrious career. Despite earlier reports suggesting contract negotiations with the team, Donald ultimately chose to retire from the sport.
