Nicki Minaj’s Smoothie King Center Concert in New Orleans Gets Canceled

The highly anticipated Nicki Minaj concert, originally set for Monday at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans, has been reported as canceled, with Fox 8 being among the first to break the news.

Minaj, who recently performed at the Rolling Loud festival in Los Angeles on March 15, shared on X (formerly Twitter) on March 16 that she wasn’t feeling well: “Barbz pls send me healing energy. woke up feeling like I had Covid. Thank God I don’t. You guys are just everything. I appreciate you. I love you so much.” She also expressed her gratitude on Instagram for her fans’ support during her challenging performance at Rolling Loud.

The scheduled performance of her Pink Friday 2 World Tour at the fully booked Smoothie King Center was expected to attract over 14,000 attendees.

As of 3:30 p.m., no official announcement regarding the status of the show had been made, possibly due to organizers aiming to confirm a rescheduled date. Whether the event will be postponed or canceled entirely remains uncertain.

Ticketmaster’s website was still offering a limited number of resale tickets, starting at $92 plus fees, just hours before the scheduled opening of the Smoothie King Center doors.

This marks the second time in five days that the Smoothie King Center has had to cancel a show. Nigerian singer Burna Boy was initially set to perform on March 14, but his concert was called off the day before the scheduled event.
