Brittany Snow is opening up about her experience. Nearly a year following the finalization of her divorce from “Selling the OC” star Tyler Stanaland, the “Pitch Perfect” actress delved into her emotions upon witnessing her ex’s perceived infidelity in the “Selling Sunset” spin-off.
“I was completely unaware of what was happening,” Brittany disclosed to Alex Cooper on the March 27 episode of Call Her Daddy. “As someone deeply involved in my career, I was truly taken aback by my lack of grasp on reality in that regard. It was truly shocking.”
When questioned by the Call Her Daddy host if she personally knew the women involved with her former husband on the show, Brittany quipped, “Which one?” before affirming that she did not.
Brittany and Tyler went their separate ways in September 2022, but it wasn’t until January of the following year that the “John Tucker Must Die” star initiated divorce proceedings, which were finalized in July. Amid this process, Tyler later admitted to sharing an off-camera kiss with his co-star Kayla Cardona during season one of “Selling the OC,” which aired in August 2022.
The subsequent season of the Netflix series, broadcast in September 2023, shed light on the close bond between the real estate agent and another co-star, Alex Hall, as Tyler navigated his divorce from Brittany. In the season finale, Tyler and Alex shared a passionate kiss in a hot tub.
Reflecting on these events depicted in the series, Brittany, visibly affected, shared, “Of course I saw it—I watched it with my dog.” She continued, “What people think happened, happened—now I can laugh about it. It’s insane and it’s so funny.”
Following the events of season two of “Selling the OC,” Tyler announced his departure from the series. Despite the challenges she faced in the past year, Brittany is endeavoring to move forward.
“I had instincts, and I believe because I was in love, I didn’t trust them—there’s a lot of grace I give myself to own up to that—there’s a part of this I don’t have control over,” she added. “They made mistakes. But I made a conscious effort to try and see it from every angle and let go of that anger because it doesn’t benefit me.”
Brittany—who began her relationship with the real estate broker in 2018 before getting married in 2020—also stressed that when she reflects on her time with Tyler, she holds no regrets.
“There was love there,” she added. “There was a marriage there. There was so much love. I think that nuance is difficult to grasp because it’s much more captivating and intriguing to simplify it to ‘he did this’ and ‘she did that,’ and that’s what I would want to project. I think many people find themselves in relationships where they get hurt, but I don’t regret it. I don’t regret anything that happened because I cherished that time when we had it.”
