Bear, aged 34, served a 21-month jail term last year for posting footage of himself and Love Island personality Georgia Harrison on OnlyFans. He was released in January. At a Proceeds of Crime Act hearing in Chelmsford Crown Court, Bear was directed to pay £5,000 in compensation to Ms. Harrison. Additionally, he was ordered to forfeit £22,305 in profits earned from subscribers after sharing the video, with the funds to be transferred to HM Treasury for allocation to police charities.
The original video featuring Ms. Harrison generated £1,650.98 in revenue, but Bear’s subscriber count surge significantly increased his earnings, as previously disclosed in court.
Expressing her distress during the Proceeds of Crime hearing, Ms. Harrison conveyed to the court, “I lived in constant fear of this being exposed, and the thought of my family discovering it was unbearable.” She described feeling violated, embarrassed, and experiencing self-loathing for an extended period.
Judge Christopher Morgan described the impact of the video as “devastating,” noting that Ms. Harrison’s life had been “irreversibly altered” due to its release.
The judge highlighted the financial repercussions Ms. Harrison faced, including lost opportunities with brands and legal expenses incurred. Bear’s OnlyFans account had 1,061 subscribers when he uploaded the video on November 8, 2020, and this figure soared to 1,883 a month later, as revealed in court.
Prosecutor Andrew Bousfield noted that during this period, Bear presented himself as a billionaire on Twitter while profiting from selling intimate content, his primary asset being such videos. Financial investigator Laura Mackenzie disclosed that Bear’s bank account was in the negative.
Bear, hailing from Loughton, Essex, received a 21-month prison sentence in March 2023 after a jury convicted him of voyeurism and disclosing private, intimate images and videos. Mackenzie calculated the £22,305.46 sum based on viewer fees and subscription gains.
During the court appearance, Bear, supported by his father, wore a pink shirt, trousers, and slippers. In a previous civil case, Bear was ordered to compensate Ms. Harrison with £207,900, yet none of it had been disbursed at the time of the hearing.
Judge Morgan warned Bear that failure to satisfy the £22,305 confiscation order within three months, without extension request, could result in a nine-month prison term.
Directing his words at Bear, the judge emphasized the seriousness of outstanding debts, stressing that imprisonment for non-payment meant serving the full sentence, with the obligation remaining until fully discharged.
During Bear’s criminal trial, it was revealed that while the encounter was consensual, Ms. Harrison was unaware that footage captured by a CCTV camera in Bear’s garden was being disseminated to a wider audience.
Speaking to reporters outside the court following the hearing, Ms. Harrison expressed her stance, stating, “No one has the right to profit from any criminal activity, but to profit significantly from image-based sexual exploitation is utterly repugnant.”
She stressed the importance of perpetrators of such heinous crimes being obligated to reimburse the victim and the justice system, particularly following a successful conviction. Ms. Harrison stated her intention to allocate a portion of the restitution to charitable organizations “that have provided support throughout this ordeal.”
