Authorities are actively seeking Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice as part of their investigation into a significant incident that occurred in Dallas on Saturday, as reported by the Dallas Morning News. According to law enforcement sources cited by the Dallas Morning News, a vehicle believed to be either registered to or leased by Rice was involved in a collision in northeast Dallas around 6:20 p.m. local time on Saturday. A police call sheet obtained by the Dallas Morning News corroborated the search for Rice in connection with the crash.
A spokesperson for the Dallas Police Department informed the newspaper that both drivers of a Chevrolet Corvette and a Lamborghini were speeding and lost control of their vehicles, resulting in the Lamborghini striking the median wall and causing “a chain reaction collision involving four other vehicles.”
The spokesperson further stated that occupants of both the Lamborghini and the Corvette fled the scene of the accident. Four individuals sustained minor injuries, with two of them requiring hospitalization.
As of Sunday morning, it remains unclear whether Rice will face charges, and his exact involvement in the incident is yet to be determined. In Dallas County jail records Rice’s name did not appear as of 7 a.m. ET on Sunday.
Rice, aged 23, spent his formative years in the Fort Worth suburb of North Richland Hills, Texas, and completed his collegiate football career at SMU in Dallas before being drafted by the Chiefs in the second round of last year’s NFL Draft.
